This Oakshot Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) is a wonderful gift to people who enjoy the writings of Edgar Allan Poe. This book has his most famous play “The Raven,” , also included are “Evening Star,” “Tamerlane,” and “A Dream.” His most famous books are of course included: “The Masque of the Red Death,” “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Cast of Amontillado,” and “The Murder in the Rue Morgue.” He is considered the inventor of detective fiction based on this last book. There is also an extensive biography telling along with much else that he became an orphan at age two and was raised by John and Frances Allan. T He was the first American writer to earn a living because of his writings alone.
